About Park Reports

Explore America’s Parks. Discover the Outdoors.

There’s a moment — just before sunrise — when the first light hits the peaks, the air tastes like pine and possibility, and the whole world feels wide open.
That’s the moment we live for.

At Park Reports, we tell the stories of those moments — from the dusty switchbacks of Zion to the hidden beaches of Olympic, from sunrise hikes in Yosemite to campfire nights under Arches’ starlit sky.

We’re a team of explorers, writers, and daydreamers who believe that America’s parks aren’t just places — they’re experiences that shape us, heal us, and remind us of what it means to be alive. Our guides help you plan unforgettable adventures: where to go, what to do, when to visit, and how to make every journey meaningful — whether it’s a cross-country road trip or a quiet walk by the lake near home.

To inspire connection — between people and the wild places that still whisper adventure.

We want to help you fall in love with nature the way we have — one trail, one sunrise, one story at a time.

At Park Reports, we believe:

  • Adventure is for everyone. You don’t need hiking boots worn thin or a van full of gear — just curiosity.

  • The Earth deserves our care. We explore with respect, leaving every path a little better than we found it.

  • Stories keep parks alive. Every shared journey helps protect these places for generations to come.

Wonder — Because the wild will always have something to teach us.

Authenticity — No filters, no fluff — just real experiences, dust, sweat, and awe.

Inclusivity — From dog-friendly trails to wheelchair-accessible lookouts, the outdoors belongs to everyone.

Connection — We believe stories are the bridges between people and places.

Meet the Team

Jack Rivers

Founder & Editor-in-Chief

Before Park Reports, Jack spent a decade as a park ranger, greeting dawn from mountaintops and guiding travelers through the hidden corners of Yosemite, Yellowstone, and beyond. These days, his office is wherever his laptop and camp mug fit — often beside a fire. Jack’s writing carries the heartbeat of the wilderness: wild, humble, and deeply human.

Favorite park memory: Watching a thunderstorm roll over the Grand Canyon from Lipan Point — “It felt like the earth was breathing.”

Maya Torres

Writer & Photographer

Maya has chased sunlight through all 63 U.S. national parks — camera in hand, golden retriever by her side. She’s part poet, part planner, crafting stories that make readers feel the trail before they walk it. Her itineraries blend breathtaking routes with moments of quiet reflection, because she believes travel isn’t just about seeing places — it’s about feeling them.

Favorite park memory: Running barefoot across the dunes of Great Sand Dunes National Park under a violet sunset.

Ethan Blake

Researcher & Map Whisperer

Ethan is our compass — literally. With a background in environmental science and a love for cartography, he ensures every distance, season, and stargazing spot is spot-on. But beyond the data, he’s an adventurer at heart — happiest with a thermos of coffee, a foggy morning, and a trail that disappears into the trees.

Favorite park memory: Kayaking at dawn in Everglades National Park while a heron mirrored his every move.

Why We Built Park Reports

We created Park Reports because we wanted more than just directions — we wanted stories.
We wanted to know what it feels like to walk the Angel’s Landing ridge, to smell the ocean from the Oregon coast cliffs, to hear coyotes singing across a Joshua Tree night.

So we built a home for that — a place where passion meets planning, and where every article invites you to experience the wild more deeply.

From “Best Things to Do in America’s National Parks” to “Dog-Friendly Beaches You’ll Want to Live On”, we write for those who crave the real — the imperfect, the spontaneous, the unforgettable.

Join the Journey! Follow our stories. Plan your next trip. Or just dream with us a little. Because the world is waiting — and it’s wilder than you think.
