Fresh Ontario maple syrup begins flowing at Bronte Creek Provincial Park on March 6th, when the park’s annual Maple Syrup Festival gets under way. The maple syrup festivities are open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every weekend in March and from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily through March Break (March 15-19th).

Enjoy a guided tour of the Maple Lane, where 1890s costumed interpreters demonstrate how to tap maple trees, make maple syrup and maple sugar. View artifacts in the maple museum or tour the 100-year-old Spruce Lane Farmhouse.

Don’t forget to browse through the maple products and souvenirs available in the Maple Gift Shoppe and pick up a bottle of syrup to take home. Hop on a wagon that will take you to a heated pancake house where you can enjoy fresh, hot pancakes with pure maple syrup and sausages, served up throughout the festival hours.

Daily Vehicle Permits are $15.00/ vehicle. For more information contact Bronte Creek Provincial Park at 905.827.6911 or visit the Friends of Bronte Creek website.

  1. Where is the winter camping! We’d be there in a heartbeat to enjoy the festival AND camp for a weekend.

Please consider expanding the winter camping program to some parks in the GTA. We went to MacGregor last year for a week and it was great, but just too far to justify for a weekend getaway.

  2. We attended this event last year and had fun. Unfortunately we didn’t make it in time for breakfast but we did go for the sugar bush tour with a guide in historic costume who showed us how maple sugar was made during different eras. I had no idea so much work was involved in the making of maple sugar and how much sap was needed to make a teeny tiny jar. Now I understand why it’s so expensive!
    I remember the little maple-leaf-shaped candies…YUM.
A lovely park to visit any time of the year.
