Join us for our first ever Algonquin Park Halloween Weekend, held at the Mew Lake Campground on October 26th and 27th.
Camping is available at the Mew Lake Campground (open year round) located at kilometer 30.6 along the highway 60 corridor. There are 131 sites including: electrical, radio/pet-free, wheelchair accessible and seven yurts. Flush toilets, laundry and showers are available at the comfort station. Firewood and ice can be purchased at the campground office from staff during business hours.
There is access to the Old Railway bike trail and to the Track & Tower trail from the campground.
The fun starts on Friday at 7:30 pm with a guided owl prowl. Who knows what might be lurking at night in the forest? Are YOU brave enough to find out?
Come dressed in your best costume as the fun continues Saturday October 27th. The day will start with a pumpkin carving contest. There will be a limited quantity of pumpkins available to you, if you have not yet found your pick of the patch. You can then use your pumpkin to help decorate your campsite for the spookiest campsite award. However, the day is still young, and everyone can join in the trick or treating (Mew Lake Campground) as the ghost and goblins come out to be judged for their best costume.
As darkness falls across the land, our first fall wolf howl is close at hand! Howl with us in the Mew Lake Airfield at 7:30pm……if you dare?
To ease your chills and have more thrills come and sit by a spook-tacular bonfire. Roast ooey gooey marshmallows and creepy crawly spider wieners. Ghost stories of old and new will be sure to scare you.
A valid park permit is required to participate.
