Park Wardens play an important role in protecting Ontario’s natural, cultural and historic resources. Park Wardens provide front line education and enforcement of the park rules and regulations as they pertain to the resources mentioned above. The role of a Park Warden varies depending on the park; however some of the common roles may include:
Highlights of career opportunity: Gain experience in resource management protection, public safety enforcement, understand and utilize various policies, Acts and legislation, and gain conflict resolution skills.
Conditions of Employment: Varies from position to position. Appropriate certification, licences or specific qualification may be required. Must be able to be designated as a Park Warden, which includes a criminal reference check, and meet the ministry certification criteria and standards in the Use of Force.
